Why 2019 feels like 1929 — and what we can do to change course
The party started under Obama and his authoritarian one-party politics. This is the reason that the authoritarian CCP moved to become more outwardly authoritarian by annexing the South China Sea and increasing its IP theft game. "What can we do to ensure the 2020s are not a replay of the 1930s?" Ummmm, that ship sailed with the election of Obama the Incompetent, and his institution of myriad authoritarian policies. That set the US and the world on the course it is on, a course destined to end in the Crisis conflict between liberty and tyranny which raises its head every 80 years. As we fought the Nazis in the 1940s, as we fought the southern authoritarians 80 years or so before that, as we fought British tyranny over the American colonies 80 or so years before that, so will we now need to fight the rising tide of authoritarian tyranny today. That tyranny is from the progressive left, and their demands to destroy society and culture so they can replace them with a new unified socialist hell much in line with the Soviet socialist hell or the Chinese socialist hell which we witnessed in the 20th century. It is the progressive leftists who want to eliminate their enemies right to speak, or to move freely, or to freedom or liberty at all. "The new big idea in Washington and in Beijing is that, after forty years of ever more engagement, the world’s two leading economies should “decouple” to further their own economic innovations and to strengthen their national security. I think that is about the worst thing that could happen, and not only for the obvious reason that it would destabilize the global economy and increase prices for consumers all over the world. Decoupling would also jettison all this economic ballast that has stabilized China-U.S. relations for decades. With flash points like Hong Kong, the South China Sea and Taiwan, tying the hands of each side by binding their economies together is the best way to keep the peace. Decoupling would free up militarism on both sides. It is easy today to deride American engagement as having failed to change China. But it has had the massive benefit of reducing the likelihood of superpower conflict." So, we should simply live with the Chinese mafia's IP theft, and all of the rest of the Chinese mafia's corruption both here in America and abroad? What kind of solution is that? Hell, just send them all the dollars and give up. Rolling over and becoming serfs to the Chinese mafia Don's is not an option any more than it was during the 1960s when the Kennedy' decided to fight against the Mafia in the US. "It has been said that for evil men to accomplish their purpose, it is only necessary that good men should do nothing." Reverend Charles F. Aked The Boomer generation is one of the sociopaths run wild. The venality of this generation is shocking. This is the reason the progressive left has fallen to such low position, the sociopath Boomers run the club, and they care little for virtue preferring mammon. This argument is more of the same. It boils down to "let the Chinese continue their corrupt practices so long as I receive my corrupt share." There is little doubt that we need to globalize the economy, but not if that means allowing corruption and centralization through authoritarianism/totalitarianism. Too many of the "globalist" want nothing less than a centralized world power under their control and domination. I would rather have the world dashed to pieces than suffer the social, cultural, and personal setbacks of living under a centralized authoritarian/totalitarian power. Live free or die. I am not a serf. Nor will I accept serfdom. This is not a solution; this is enserfment. "Leaders should not only show real empathy for the people who have been dislocated by technology and globalization but also present compelling plans for extending the benefits to them. Education is the answer. Issues of access and affordability are no doubt important. But we must also focus on changing education to match the jobs of tomorrow. Are we fated to re-live the horrors of the 1930s? Certainly not. But we must acknowledge the profound challenges in front of us. “Downton Abbey” is wonderful to watch. But its underlying point is that the naïve optimism of the 1920s was breathtakingly dangerous." Mon Dieu! Exposing those who suffer the loss of a job to the corrupt "educational system" will do nothing for them. We need a complete change of the socio-economic model. We have used job retraining for decades; it does not work. Nor do our current K-12 or higher ed systems. This is because the progressive leftists are standing in the way of progress. Ironic, no? But true. We need to reform our government administration model, limit government regulation, eliminate the income tax, and begin the hard work of downsizing government and reforming our business model. But while the progressives hold sway, we can do nothing. And so the solutions offered are nothing but the corrupt failures of the past many decades with a new bow around their middle. This is little more than lipstick on a frog. That does not make the frog a prince only a frog with lipstick. No amount of kissing will change that truth. Bandaids and temporary fixes are a waste of time unless and until the underlying corruption is eliminated and the new socio-economic model brought to fruition. Trump is attempting to change the international system to eliminate much of the corruption. It will be tough medicine to take, but the alternative is to continue allowing corruption to sap the life of the people of the USA and the world so tyrants like Xi can prosper. Time for change. Time to throw off the yoke of progressivism. Time for revolution against the tyrants and wannabe tyrants. I fear the 80 crisis will once again be internal civil war. The first two were civil wars, the first a British civil war, the second the American civil war. Both were incredibly deadly and violent. Regardless, the tyranny of the authoritarian progressive left must be thwarted. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best and good luck.
