Dunkirk, the Movie: Hitler made many errors,  but few as consequential as Dunkirk!

8/4/2016

Few as consequential as letting 338,200 soldiers in the British Expeditionary Force, and additional 140,000 assorted foreign troops escape through the port of Dunkirk. Losses of materiel, and ammunition were so great it limited the British war machine into the Africa campaign. These losses were made good by the US war manufacturing machine, which in the end supplied nearly every allied nation with a significant or even majority of war materiel necessary to win the war. Ultimately, WWII was won through industrial production. All protestations contrary, the USSR would have fallen had not the US produced, and delivered aircraft, train engines, train cars, jeeps, 6X6 trucks, fuel, and food among myriad other items.

The memorial reads: "To the glorious memory of the pilots, mariners, and soldiers of the French and Allied armies who sacrificed themselves in the Battle of Dunkirk, May–June 1940."

Why Netflix's Lilyhammer deserves a season 4 renewal

. . . but that looks less and less likely.

There is plenty of room in the on demand TV realm for well written, well acted, little gems like Lilyhammer.

The new 'Ghostbusters' just got some very bad news for its box office

The movie will without doubt bomb in the US. Its only hope was China where the viewers will not have seen the original. The only remaining question is how low can it go?

High Sparrow From Game Of Thrones Looks Exactly Like Pope Francis

I ran into my doppelgänger in college. Freaky! We really did look alike, too much so. Oddly, I only saw him the one time, he was the son of one of the janitors who had said we looked alike.

I liked the Pope in Ronin! For a while, I actually thought the Pope had been in Ronin! Heh!

Brilliant film, utterly brilliant. The opening scene is a masterpiece, one long take constantly building suspense, great acting, snapping plot, and the ending nearly eclipses the opening! No, really!

The metaphor here is only a half step behind, and that is a large amount of well deserved praise! Well done!
