How the world's largest military stacks up to the US armed forces

Fortunately for the Chinese, they won their last engagement, you remember, Tiananmen Square!

should cops dress as if they are SAS?

The new heavily armed face of counter terror policing is revealed

Don't dress up police officer men, like the SAS and think anyone will be fooled. I updated the lede because I felt the original was inappropriate.

Those aren't police officers, those are SAS wanna be's.

This is a police officer.

This is the SAS.

Houston we have a problem, that problem is the militarization of police forces. In America, crime, especially violent crime has dropped to levels approximately similar to the early 1960s, the exact time when the Andy Griffith Show was filmed. Yet our police look more like the cabbage head on the right than Barney Fife. Why?

Bill Whittle makes a fine point.

We need to stop the madness, de-escalate the militarization of the police, and return to more professional looking policing uniforms. We don't need tactical vest, or paramilitary looking uniforms, we need simple, straightforward police uniforms.

The Aldershot Piffle, I am sure it wasn't a real abduction attempt!

Soldiers warned not to wear uniforms to work after military employee 'escapes abduction bid' outside Aldershot barracks

And please inform us of the perpetrators appearance so we can help with tips. We would hate to misidentify a gaggle of matrons arguing about a piston engine for the real perpetrators. I wonder why they would not include a description?

Fortunately, this was not a terror attack, but only a crime we all know no government would fail to report to the public terror attack, right?

The bit in the video starts at about 2:45.

Ooh Rah, Marines!

The best place to stargaze is probably not in your backyard, but somewhere more adventurous.

And never forget, neither bravery, nor courage ever goes out of style.

Tonight I will toast US Army Lt. Col. (Ret.) Charles Kettles with a double neat Glenfiddish 14 year, Bourbon Barrel Reserve single malt whisky, Thank you for your courage, and for saving dozens of men while under intense enemy fire.

Guardian: Tyrants and War Criminals Demand Climate Action

Dictators, tyrants, autocrats, and genocidal maniacs are butthurt. This may be the only policy where Trump and I agree, and he likely came to the understanding for reasons I would not understand, however, Hillary and I agree on nothing, and her complete lack of integrity, mendaciousness, criminal, and unethical behavior all prevent her from any function in the military chain of command. She not only gets everything wrong, she is unfit to command US military troops.

Somme 'Iron Harvest' will take 500 years to clear, say bomb disposal experts on centenary of bloody battle

This was one of the world's great mistakes. Military leaders experienced before the industrial age, fighting a war with industrial age weapons, resulting in shocking numbers of killed and wounded. It was as if the generals has fashioned two huge grinders and marched their soldiers into them.

The battle ranged from 1 July to 18 November, 1916, with total casualties of 1,088,907 (both sides). The war changes Europe culturally, socially, religiously, and politically. The reverberations are still felt today.

Pray for peace.

Trump HAMMERS Hillary: 'World Class Liar...She Gets Rich By Making You Poor'

"Since Donald Trump announced his candidacy last year, I have repeatedly stated that Trump is a hammer in search of a nail. He knows only one tactic: brute force. But when he applies that brute force in the right place, he can do significant damage.
