PolitiFact or Politi-fiction?
Newspaper "truth" columns are a bad idea. They imply that journalists could know the truth of difficult, complicated, even scientific subjects. This is simply not the case. Worse, they imply that there are impartial arbiters of truth who one can listen to be informed of the truth. If there are such Unicorns, they are not journalist, one of the most biased groups, only eclipsed by academics.

MYSTERY: CNN loses feed as reporter critiques Hillary Clinton - The American Mirror
It's a mystery!
When the reporter began to criticize Clinton, this happened: "And remember Hillary Clinton has some vulnerabilities herself.
“Even as she calls for criminal justice reform because of her support in the 1990s for anti-crime legislation that ultimately helped contribute to this era of mass incarceration that she now speaks out again–,” Keilar was saying.
The screen suddenly went black with only the graphics — referring to Donald Trump as “dangerous” — remaining.
“We just lost Brianna Kevlar who was in Springfield, Illinois where Hillary Clinton just spoke,” anchor John Berman said, before moving on."
It has become impossible to tell if it is CNN or the Onion.

The really bad strategy is for media mouthpieces swirling the drain to pump themselves up to advisor levels. CNN, your name has returned to the original understanding of the acronym: Chicken Noodle News. Please stop blowing harder, and find something valuable to report, your very existence requires it. WaPo media critic on director, Couric response to #GunGate:
The Fraud in "Gungate" Is Real, And Should End Katie Couric's Career
Couric, in order to make the gun rights side look stupid edits a bit of B roll film after a question, in the B roll the interviewees are waiting for questions. This makes it appear as if they have no answer to the question. But an audio recorded by the interviewees shows they had incisive answers, and provided them quickly.
