Women spend SIX MONTHS of their working lives deciding what to wear
We had the same problem, ok, we lied, we didnt.
More after the jump.
We bought 5 suits, and 5 sports jackets with 3 appropriate slacks each, we know they were appropriate only because the saleschick at the men's store said they were. As they got long in the tooth, we replaced with something a bit more "updated" we know because the same saleschick said so.
We matched with either white or blue shirts as appropriate, see saleschick for explanation, and about 80 ties.
Yes, we bought all of this over time, but we always had something to wear, and we had enough ties, and shirts to make it so we could wear the same suit more than once each week, although this was never necessary.
What kind of insanity keeps women from doing this kind of thing? Invest in 5 business outfits, then 5 more flexible pieces with 3 alternatives, plus shirts, er, blouses.
When I hear young men whinging about suits today, I wonder if they have become addled? The uniform made work dress easy-peasy. Why they would want to change this and fall into the feminine trap is bewildering.
Good luck ladies. Don't take my advice, however, it is much too easy, and does't come with the built in frustration and angst which seems to be necessary.
