That Trump is crushing the competition is becoming an axiom, the reasons for the "crushing" are subject of endless speculation. This article accidentally explains the primary reason, graphically.
Good luck getting into Detroit’s GOP debate Of the tickets allotted only 50 go to actual voters trying to make up their minds. Another 450 have been allocated to Michigan Republican party "leaders." So, we know how the MRP "pigs at the trough, er, leaders" view the electorate, poorly. All Trump is doing is standing out front of people who have been subject to this kind of treatment for decades, saying, "You really don't have to put up with this any longer." Trump represents the Champion willing to enter the fight on behalf of the average Joe who cannot. And he is a wrecking ball. The Donald fights the Pretenders to the Presidency The Republican party, and Peggy Noonan's "protected" are aghast at the prospect of a Trump candidacy. They gas on incessantly about how this is the end of the world as we know it, but it isn't, and obviously so. This just might be the end of the current Republican establishment/entitlement, however. It’s Time for The Speech "America’s presidential election politics, such as this one, will recognize instantly what I am proposing here. It is time for Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz to deliver The Speech—or lose. Lose the campaign, the party, the Supreme Court and an already diminished country’s next four years. “The Speech” is the title history has conferred on Ronald Reagan’s 1964 speech called “A Time for Choosing.” Reagan delivered the speech in October 1964 on behalf of the foundering presidential campaign of the Republican Party’s nominee, Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona." Oh, right, President Goldwater! I remember that guy. Don't I? No, and Henninger is tacitly admitting that this is all and only about protecting the entitlement/establishment/elite of the Republican party. Great! Just what everyone whats, more of them! "Every one of those big speeches in some way talked about breaking away from an unacceptable status quo. Donald Trump’s lone achievement has been to reveal that an unacceptable status quo exists. That is all he knows. He has created the opportunity for Messrs. Rubio or Cruz to clarify a major political moment, to help voters understand what is troubling America and to explain a way out of a destructive status quo. The point isn’t to win the whole nation with one speech. It is to win more than what they’ve got now, which isn’t going to be enough." So, Trump has Henninger terrified out of his mind! Heh. And why would anyone think Cruz, or Rubio, two men without any significant accomplishments will move the country in a new and positive direction. Oh, right, that's not even the point, the point is to keep the Republican party firmly in the hands of Noonan's "protected" class, of which Henninger is a card carrying member. Trump Voters Need a Mirror "Trump supporters are disappointed in America’s leadership elites." Sorry Junior, they aren't disappointed in their Republican betters, they are, as my mother might say, "Sick and Tired®" of these twats standing at the political trough, eating greedy, and sluicing money to their crony friends, exactly like the Democrats do. Like the Stones in an Inca Temple, one could not slip a knife between these two parties, their graft, and corruption. The difference lies only in the who is designating the cronies. Nor do Americans, nor Trump voters like you or your lot much. "To be honest and impolitic, the Trump voter smacks of a child who unleashes recriminations against mommy and daddy because the world is imperfect." Oh God, the WSJ whinger in chief has the temerity to actually type this drivel? Junior, it is you whinging about not getting your way. "The establishment/entitlement who I love are not getting their candidate, wahhhh." The Republican mass has been treated to the party elite doing what it wants for my entire lifetime. Tired of this situation, they have decided to hire the man who is willing to kick over the money changers stalls in the Temple. No, Trump is not The Christ, he is only a mercenary willing to do what the Republican rank and file deem necessary to recover their party, and make it understand it is theirs, and not the party of the effete elite who now run the show. That you do not like the merc who is being hired is unimportant. What follows is mostly more drivel, some Arnold, and more drivel. Then . . . "One party, the Democrats, wants to keep winning by offering free things—free health care, free college. Their bet is they can extract satisfactory political rents from being the go-to party for groups seeking to protect their spending. The other party, the Republicans, is stuck being the reform party—if it has the nerve, which is highly doubtful." Exactly right, the "reform party," when what we need is something much more radical than some nominal reform. The reformation Junior speaks of is little more that a shifting of the cronies to whom the elite will sluice your money. The slogan for both parties could be, "Better ours than theirs!" No Junior, you are getting what you, Henninger, Mcgurn, and other elites in the Republican party so richly deserve. And please do not waive the, "But the Presidency" bullshit in my face, unless you wish to eat it." The Union is stronger than many believe. It survived President Feckless ODither, and will survive the next whether it is Trump, Hillary, Sanders, Cruz or little marco. Is the Republican party having its Whig party 1853 moment? I don't know, but I suspect that the average Joe's out in the Republican party would like it to be so, and as such it is much more likely. I am almost willing to walk away from my unwillingness to be a member of either of the venal political parties, almost. Instead, I will continue my moral, and ethical abhorrence of these and instead comment from the peanut gallery. I relish the ability to watch Noonan's protected class being sacrificed on the alter of change. If the Democrat party does not begin something similar, and soon, it will likely be the rump party for a generation. The first party to go all in with the Third Way will control national politics for at least a generation. Lastly, Henninger's call for The Speech, seems to have been heard by the average Joe's in the Republican party even before he wrote it. Instead of hiring Trump to give a maudlin speech which would have been acknowledged and promptly ignored by the Republican party elite, they hired Trump as Champion, to do battle with the 300 establishment lickspittle candidates. The elites laughed uproariously, and noted that this too would end, and it is with Trump knocking one lickspittle candidate after the other out of the ring. and out of his wits. And the average Joe's laugh uproariously! It seems the elites have a serious fight on their hands, and their "Champions" are Cruz, or Rubio, two lackluster men of no discernible accomplishment. Why do I hear the name McCain whenever I say, "Cruz, and Rubio?"
