I know and routinely spend time with many members of the US military and former members of the military. It is shocking how the military top brass has turned from their jobs to social justice harridans. The problem with this shift is that the best will leave the services, leaving the services with an inferior cadre of officers, non-coms, and grunts. No military service can go into battle in this condition. Just ask the Soviet Union after the German WWII invasion. We are in a world of hurt. The only saving grace is that nearly every other nation, particularly China, and our enemies are worse for nearly the same reasons. The US is now deep in the corruption phase of the progressive movement. It will be this massive corruption that is the movement's undoing and collapse. This crisis period is likely to be the largest and most dangerous of the three the nation has faced, including the American Revolutionary War, the American Civil War, and WWII. The Fourth Turning: What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America's Next Rendezvous with Destiny We are now at the spear point of the Crisis Period. Much will happen over the next few years, and many will be shocked by the changes that occur. During the past three Crisis Periods, the outcome was unexpected, but it propelled liberty forward while repressing the forces of authoritarianism. Human history is generally linear and easy to understand. Events follow an understandable path with obvious links between them. This makes forecasting short to midterm historical events relatively easy. But when the crisis rises to the zenith, historical linearity fails, and history moves into a quantum mode. At that point, the events no longer have any linear relationship with each other. This seems impossible, but it nearly always bears out during these seminal Crisis Periods. One example occurred during WWII. Both the German and Japanese war machines appeared unstoppable shortly after the war was engaged. Germany took the Low Countries and France (the most powerful nation on Earth) with little fanfare in 6 weeks. The Japanese attacked the Asian mainland and then America and seemingly rolled up most South Pacific without significant problem. But the Japanese attack on American and the German declaration of war against America had the effect of triggering a quantum change. You will often hear that the USSR won WWII in Europe. But this is not accurate. Before the attack on Pearl Harbor, no nation or group of nations had the industrial ability to produce the war materials necessary to beat Germany or Japan. The USSR would not have been able to succeed in that conflict without the US entering the war. No nation in the Asian sphere would have beat Japan in the production of war materials. Why? The essential reason was that the Submarine Wolf-Packs kept Britain from unleashing its industrial might. Britain is a small country close to France and subject to constant air attacks by German forces. Britain is lucky it did not succumb, but that was due to the character and doggedness of the British. To keep this short, let's focus on Europe and not bog down with Europe and Asia. The attack on the US forced isolationist Americans into the war and, within a few months, unleashed the full power of the industrial might. The US produced more of every type of essential war material than not just our enemies or our enemies and our allies, but of the entire world combined by a huge margin. The US produced this massive amount of war material not in decades but months. This is the often unacknowledged quantum leap that changed the outcome of WWII from likely German and Japanese victories to defeats. Few seem to realize that not only did the US provide war materials to the Brits and our other allies while arming and organizing and arming French military units, polish military units, and similar allies who were under German domination, but we provided the majority of all kinds of military materials to the USSR including jeeps, trucks, aircraft, general war materials, train cars, locomotives, fuel, food, nearly everything else needed to support the people and fight the war. The US, for a time, was producing Liberty ships at a rate of one ship per day. The Axis forces might have forecast the US ability to produce a few dozen ships per quarter, but that did not happen. Instead, what happened was the number of drydocks multiplied, and the ability of each dry dock to produce ships increased exponentially. Remember this was Liberty Ships used to transport war materials to US and allied groups and nations worldwide. What was the difference in actual combat ships? The video below is an excellent discussion of that issue. It shows through a chronological graph the type of ships produced by both the US and Japan and establishes why the US could win the Pacific war. Note I have not needed to discuss that the Atomic Bomb was the ultimate quantum leap of WWII, which the US produced. I wish I could tell you what the quantum leap will be in this crisis, but I cannot. It will happen. It will not likely be apparent until the quantum leap has happened and become obvious to everyone. The Video below is an excellent introduction to the issue.
