The EU, and Britain misunderstand Brexit consequences

Britain is completely lost after Brexit and will beg for a deal, Brussels believes

The Gonfalons at the EU are dumb as a bag of hammers. They actually believe that it is Britain which will suffer the greater consequences of Brexit. Apparently, they have no idea how economics works, or finances, or money, or, well, anything. Luckily, the EU has these gaudy Gonfalons to stud the chamber halls, because what would a pseudo nation do without a large number of gaudy, gauche, Gonfalons?

Britain through Brexit became a free agent. The EU would like to believe that the other nations of the world will join with the EU, and gang up on that poor sod, Britain. They will not, well, except for the least competent President in American history, President Feckless O'Dither. Trade deals will come Britain's way, and will benefit both, or all parties. Regardless, Britain holds a trump card, in order to accelerate its wealth, it only need open its shores to imports by eliminating import tariffs to make Britain much wealthier. No nation, no pseudo-nation, not even the "vaunted" EU Gonfalons can alter that fact. 

The EU Gonfalons could tag British exports with EU tariffs, but this only hurts the EU, not Britain. This issues is so simple it is nearly impossible to understand how it is misunderstood, but it is. It is no different then you trading with your grocery store. Are you better off if you create an import tariff on a chain of grocery stores (meaning you increase the price you must pay for groceries from these stores)? No. Obviously, paying more for products would allow the remaining grocery stores to charge you more, since competition would be lower. And you would be self limiting from accessing that chains sale items, and stock of goods.

For some reason we believe that import tariffs create wealth in the tariff imposing country, but they do the opposite, the decrease wealth in the tariff imposing nation. By eliminating import tariffs, Britain will gain wealth, consumers money will go farther, and Britain, and the British will prosper.

That does leave many issues, including movement of people, work rights, among many other things which will need to be resolved. However, while these issues may also impinge on the wealth issue, Britain, again holds the cards to accelerate the nations wealth. By simply making a simple streamlined system whereby individuals from the rest of the world, including the EU can emigrate to Britain to work, and/or reside, Britain can gain all of the wealth benefits of the current movement of people it holds with the EU. 

This is essentially the same argument as above. The people coming into Britain bring ideas, drive, determination, and labor, which is wealth enhancing, not draining. 

As far as I can tell, Britain has less to lose by antagonism from the EU, than the EU has to lose from EU antagonism to Britain. 

The peoples of the EU should be proud they have these ignorant Gonfalons flapping loudly, and proudly their ignorance for all to see. It is quite a spectacle. 

Best yet, all of this happens before the EU has to pass the plate for the next Greek, or Spanish, or Portuguese, or Italian, or French, or Belgium bail out. And yes, it really is that bad. All of those countries are in dire economic shape. The rest will need to act to help them, and Britain has opted out of that mess. This simply means that the remaining healthy EU countries will be even more burdened by these bailouts. 

I am sure the German people will enjoy sluicing ever more money to the failed Southern EU nations. Don't you!
