Retired cop pulls gun on man who he believes stole his golf clubs
1. It is a property crime. It does not merit deadly force, and using deadly force in this case is a crime.
2. He is apparently not a police officer. Claiming he is one is a crime. "She confirmed that the gun wielding man is not a Tulsa officer, but police believe he may be a retired fire marshal from another area." Oy vey!
Then again, perhaps the laws are different in Oklahoma, but I truly doubt it. The kid's attorney should file charges on the kids behalf. Yeah, the kid is a probably a dirt bag thief, but this old shite went far beyond the pale, and who would believe him with the video clearly showing him to be lying about being a police officer, and threatening to kill the kid.
Frankly, I can't see how this old fart would make even a bad witness. His testimony will be deeply marked by the fact that he is a liar, and caught lying on the video tape where he is "arresting" this young man. As a juror I would be hard pressed to believe anything he said once I understood he was lying.
Then again perhaps he really is a police officer somewhere, and can dodge this bullet. My BS detector is at full alert, however.
