Should police roll out on druggie calls, or should the mayor's office do that heavy lifting?6/25/2020 Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus offers resignation after man’s death
"While authorities concluded “no blows, strikes, chokeholds, knee to the neck, chemical or electronic weapons were used” during the incident, Magnus said the officers involved did not follow department protocol. “I can’t say enough, this is a terrible tragedy,” Magnus said, adding that he is offering his resignation over the “horrible” incident. “The officers, in this case, did not live up to our department’s high standard. He added that the three officers, who are Hispanic and Black, would have been terminated if they had not resigned." In the video, the officers generally acted professionally and treated the druggie well. They did swear at him and threatened to tase him, but those cannot be fireable department protocol violations. What are these protocols? The police chief and police chiefs around the country need to tell the mayors of the cesspool cities, F@#$ off, you take care of these nonviolent druggies from now on. Let the mayor roll out on a strung-out druggie running through his house, naked, and let's see how well they do with the situation. My best guess is they can't cut it. The mayor sounds like a CYA jerkoff trying to smear the police, so the mob doesn't come for her. Well, if the mob comes and Tuscon needs a sacrificial lamb to the slaughter, I would suggest it be the mayor. That is the way the world should work, you get the power and perks, but you also pay the price when the piper demands payment. Instead, Regina sacrificed the police, how quaint. "The Pima County Medical Examiner stated that Ingram-Lopez’s cause of death was “a sudden cardiac arrest, with acute cocaine intoxication and an enlarged heart.” The report, however, listed the manner of death as “undetermined.” Mayor Romero said it was unacceptable that neither her office nor the public was notified of this death immediately after it happened and called for a “swift but a thorough investigation” into the incident. She is also proposing sweeping changes in the city's policing procedures, including establishing a community policing initiative. She added that she was not aware of Magnus’ decision to offer his resignation, saying he has been “an honest, a great police chief for the city of Tucson.'" Why would her office need to be notified immediately? Perhaps so she can pull out her blame-thrower and start projecting blame on others? Tuscon, if you elect crap, don't expect it to work out well. Now you have three fewer officers, no police Chief, and a department demoralized to the point that all of the responsible officers are looking to bail out at the next opportune moment. Way to go. Mobs are not different from toddlers throwing an emotional tantrum, but the damage and mayhem they can do is monsterous. We cannot allow a mob to control even one of our cities. Sadly the mayors of our progressive cities have no idea what they are doing, or how one diverts a mob from violence to valid legal protest. Instead, they are bending the knee, appeasing the mob and trying hard to cause the mob to totally lose control in a spasm of violence that will trigger a new American Civil War. Bending the knee will trigger the spasm of violence.
