The collapse of Portland is caused by feckless progressive voters electing feckless progressive POLITICIANS

​Portland is in collapse due to the voters' desires to be dictated to by progressive nincompoops implementing policies that fail to consider human nature, incentives, and reality. The politicians and bureaucrats in Portland and Multnomah County are so out of touch with reality that they continue to double down on policies, which have resulted in epidemic homelessness, an army of drug zombies, the city filled with trash, feces, urine and filth, rampant crime, and mass shootings on a daily or sometimes hourly basis. The city continually claims new programs designed to clean up the trash, filth, and human waste that fills the streets, yet each week, the problem grows. The politicians thought the problem was the police, so they defunded it; now, crime, shootings, and murders are skyrocketing. 

Until the voters of Portland grow up and realize that the progressive policies they demand and the progressive politicians they elect are destroying the city, the city will continue its catastrophic decline. 

We moved out of Portland in 1998 because we could tell then that the city was run by clowns, the rapacious transit MAFIA, and grifters. Since then, things have changed; the voters doubled down on stupid three times, making the problem 8-10 times worse today. The idiot Portland voters intend to double down as soon as possible, making the problem at least 20 times worse. This is less a problem of politicians and policy and more a problem of a City of Fools. If you thought a Ship of Fools was bad, come and visit the City of Fools and be amazed. 

Now is not the time to move to Portland since it is trying its damnedest not to replicate but beat both Chicago and Detroit at their respective games. Portland is winning. 

It is also too dangerous to visit. Shootings, murders, violent crimes, and property crimes are all out of control, and there are no police to bring the situation under control. The roads are Mad Max on steroids, a veritable free-for-all of lawlessness with the threat of violence should you misunderstand and honk your horn at one of the out-of-control miscreants. 

One must go armed at all times yet understand that protecting oneself from violent crime will surely mean arrest, charges, and bankrupting costs because the District Attorney wants the violent, fascist Black Block, Antifa, and Black Lives Matter groups to win over the middle class and the working class. When the revolution comes, and it will, I fully expect the politicians to meet a fate similar to Mussolini. Google it but be warned it was not pretty. 

The collapse can be stopped if the voters grow up and vote the progressives out of office. I expect that will not happen. 

You should have visited Portland back in the late 1980s or early 1990s; it was beautiful. Yes, the political grifters and fools existed then, but they had done little damage. It is too late now. Perhaps there are old YouTube videos of Portland, however.

Portlanders have worked hard to get the government they have, they deserve whatever comes from their choices.
