No snow? No problem. Behold the rise of extreme summer skiing
Photos, below the fold.
Dirt, ain't bad, but it can leave a raspberry.
We don't have dirt, but we do have sand dunes, miles, and miles of sand dunes. There is about 50 sq. mi. of sand dunes with some up to 500 feet in elevation, fine for skiing. And the coast is cool, so you won't get too hot hiking. I skied these back in the late 1970s when I attended University of Oregon, and once or twice while I attended Oregon State University. It's fun, and it makes a weird squeaking noise at times!

But we also have real live summer snow skiing.
I ski patrolled here years ago during the summer. Then I would drive home, and spend the afternoon waterskiing, and wake boarding, with my lovely wife. Life was rough!
