2015 Updated NOAA Tide Gauge Data Shows No Coastal Sea Level Rise Acceleration
Oops! Well, if imminent means, over the next 20,000 years.
The clerisy of the global alarmist religion has been forecasting apocalypse since at least 1998, and they have been consistently wrong. They do have the climate alarm religions religious texts, and the global warming alarm models, but they have been so consistently wrong that calling them discredited is a slander on all things discredited.
Sea levels have been rising since the end of the last ice age, this should be expected. The rate of this rise continues at its normal pace.
"NOAA has updated its extensive U.S. coastal tide gauge data measurement records (http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_us.htm) to include data through year 2015. These measurements include tide gauge data coastal locations for 25 West Coast, Gulf Coast and East Coast states along the Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. In addition 7 Pacific island groups and 6 Atlantic island groups also have coastal location tide gauge data measurements updated as well.
In all more than 200 coastal locations are included in these measurements with more than 100 of these coastal locations with recorded data periods in excess of 50 years in duration. None of these updated NOAA tide gauge measurement data records show coastal location sea level rise acceleration occurring anywhere on the U.S. coasts or Pacific or Atlantic island groups."
The global warming religion is a trifecta occurrence providing politicians, bureaucrats, and scientists the perfect single package to further the goals of each.
Scientists within the climate sciences field need and want grants, for it is these grants which provide them with funding, a salary, and stature within the field.
Bureaucrats similarly can use alarmist studies to increase headcount, and budget size for their agencies. These more than anything account for power and salary size in the federal bureaucracy.
Lastly, politician desire nothing as much as a fear inspiring apocalyptical problem which the politicians can solve today, tomorrow, and then later again, and again, and again. That this problem does not actually exist is a feature not a bug.
Add to that the fact that the dying media really needs a good old fashioned apocalypse to save it from its self imposed demise, and you have a perfect solution to myriad problems.
That the solution will cost you money buy the bushel basket load they care not a whit. This is their salvation, and believing the environmental religion implicitly, they feel great about saving Gaia even if it cost you a pretty penny.
Welcome to hell, a place built on good intentions, and the desire to help others.
