NASA is a little bit of cool welded to the top of a horrendously expensive, incompetent bureaucracy . . .
UNIVERSITY STUDENTS LAUNCHED A ROCKET WITH COMPLETELY 3D-PRINTED ENGINE
. . . with no reason to retain it any more. Time to cut NASA's funding to zero.
"No one expects college kids to beat NASA to the punch. On Saturday, students at University of California San Diego launched a rocket with a completely 3D-printed engine."
Oh, come on! Government is hardly ever the first to do something, real change always comes from individuals, not government. The US massive bureaucratization of government since 1960 has been terrible for space exploration, military development, health care, education and everything else suffering under the grip of government's restraining hand.
If we had killed NASA after the last moon shot, we would be vacationing in space, and perhaps the moon by now, instead, we are earthbound.
