For Sale: A Texan Symbol Of Defiance
John knows so little about so much, and it show so brightly. He ends his piece of ahistorical nonsense, "The people of Gonzales, Texas, urge anyone who wants to borrow their famous battle cry to at least take the time to learn the real history of "Come and Take It." Failing to understand the phrase has a much deeper, richer history. John is what we get when we allow credentialed buffoons to combine reporting with opinion, garbage. But then we all understand garbage in, garbage out.
Here is a full take down of this ahistorical nonsense.
NPR Reporter Has No Idea What ‘Come And Take It’ Means
I seldom read NPR any more. The lack of historical understanding is breathtaking, and annoying. The articles blend opinion into every piece, while pretending they are "reporting." They are not, they are an editorial organ. Dishonesty, and stunning ahistoricity are enough to warrant ignoring NPR, and John Burnett.
Welcome to Earth John, look around, but you might want to bone up on the history of the place before you opine.
