A University Asked Alumni For Donation Money. One Grad Sent Them Back This Brutal E-mail. Unfortunately it is not the alma mater that needs to have this reality check, it is the families, and students who will be freshmen next year. These are the people who will be driven to impoverishment by the huge costs, and massive debt. We have no idea if this is real, or Memorex, but the sentiment is right. We know at least a few college graduates who have dropped out because they found the cost shocking, and they understood they were adrift, unfocused. We also know a few Millennials who have graduated and who are angry and frustrated that there is so little value in their degree. One, very nice young woman, worked down at the local Starbucks, her frustration is palpable. She works at an employer which pays benefits, but for a low wage, and insufficient hours. How to get a top 10 university degree in three years for less than $10,000 in tuition! But it requires maturity, dedication, and focus. The student must know what they want for a major up front, and be ready to dive right in. The course of study is two semesters per year, 16 credit hours per semester, with a single final test per course in late spring. This is not American education spoon feeding the child so they can romp, and play, this is serious education, where the student must take full responsibility for themselves. The degree, at least the degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science is top flight, top 10-20 seems a common ranking. Some good things like beautiful women (er, or men), a full social calendar, and the campus environment, and some bad things like all the modern neo-soviet totalitarian group think and indoctrination BS, Social Justice Warriors, and censored speech.
