Business leaders in Texas can't find workers who can follow directions and do simple math
Illiterate, innumerate, and stupid ain't no way to go through life.
More after the break.
"'Entry-level candidates cannot read or follow instructions. Most cannot do simple math problems. What is wrong with the educational system?" one respondent in chemical manufacturing said.
"The ability to find qualified employees is our largest problem at this time," a respondent in fabricated metal product manufacturing said. A respondent in textile product mills expressed a similar sentiment.
Theoretically speaking, the idea of labor quality becoming a pressing issue for employers suggests that economic concerns are shifting from weak demand to tight supply. And that — again, theoretically — points to higher wages for workers."
Higher wages for workers who can read, follow instructions, and do simple math problems. But for the others, there is only unemployment, and poverty.
Good thing we have government run education, because could you imagine the mess if we left this up to the private sector? Where would Democrats ever find voters? They would all be employed at good paying jobs! Dude, we can't have that!!!
