Dear oldsters welcome to the new age, robo-investors, robo-doctors, robo-everthing. You're welcome!3/3/2016 The oldsters are not ready for this!
MILLENNIALS HIRE COMPUTERS TO INVEST THEIR MONEY . . . . . . and drive their cars, give them an annual checkup, handle their insurance issues, perform surgery, and litigate their disputes. It's all coming, and sooner than the old codgers believe. The Millennials are the largest demographic cohort in US history. The Boomers are not long for this world, what with the oldest of that cohort hitting 70. Boomers have another decade, and then their numbers will begin to decline ever more rapidly. The Millennials, however will grow more powerful as they hit their stride within the job markets, and begin to exercise more political power. The real split show up as the Millennials begin to force high cost services industries like law, and medicine to shift from a human faced model to a computer faced model. The Boomers will rebel at this, but their smaller, and dwindling numbers doom them to a rear guard retreating action. The Millennials will get their way, mostly by crafting voluntary solutions to the high costs of medical services which will allow them to access low cost, and very high quality computerized medical services, while the Boomers continue to access high cost, lower quality, mistake prone human based medical services. This will drive up the costs to the Boomers. While the Boomers cling to their comprehensive medical payments insurance, the Millennials will seek out HSA's, married to catastrophic medical payments insurance. Boomers have spent the past 50+ years diverting money from the rest of the population to themselves, whether through insufficient payments to programs like Social Security/Medicare, or nonpayments like borrowing a trillion dollars each year to inflate tax revenues, while forcing the Millennials to pay for these transfers in the future. The Boomers have done this forever, and they do it to nearly everything allowing more direct transfers from government to Boomers at great cost to the younger generations. While the Silent Generation which came before the Boomers built the Interstate Highway System, the Boomers have simply used it up, without thought to devote sufficient funds to maintain the system. Again, this acts like a transfer of responsibility, and cos from Boomers to the younger generations. No generation has acted so venally.
