Choose and perish . . . Choose the form of the destructor . . . The choice is made, the traveler has come . . .
Mark Perry goes to work on The new 'restaurant math' of Seattle's $15 an hour minimum wage. It is an ugly bloodletting.
The central problem surrounding the minimum wage argument is that for so long the increases were minuscule, too close to the noise in the system to distinguish noise from causation. But with +60% increases the progressive economists will no longer be able to argue and quibble. The outcomes will be obvious, and dire, at least for the workers. For the politicians it will provide yet another problem for them to "solve." Usually by a rescue which is actually a choosing of the form of the destructor in disguise.
How much more pleasing the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, than local government? But the reality is the local government is a much more refined economic killer. How long before Seattle becomes a donut hole in the middle of a large ring of restaurants?
Yet again government's rescue is a disguised choosing of the form of the traveler, who brings destruction in his wake.
Chose the form of the destructor
