Video captures officers using stun gun on sitting man
So, the cops have a young man sitting on the curb. One cop is behind him the other is off to his right and behind him. The cop behind him says, "Legs straight out or you are getting tased! Straight out! Straight out!" The man slowly extends his legs as the female cop off to the right who is running the camera says, "Put your legs straight out and cross them now!" So, the young man retracts and crosses his legs and is immediately tased! More below. Connecticut man sentenced to 55 years jail for murdering his parents

Things were different under Guiliani. Expect them to continue to decline until New York reaches the bottom, at which point the voters will again elect a reasonable person Mayor who will repair the damage. Lather, rinse, repeat. After that do not follow Obama. He won but did nothing. You won, do something! There's a gender wage gap for Uber drivers, but it's not caused by sexism
Men and women are different, behave differently, and want different things. The result is ... differences. Those differences result in wage disparities and gaps. This is normal. These differences cannot be "fixed" without using coercion, unfairness, or force. Either that or algorithms are sexist. "Get ready to freak out, liberals: There’s a wage gap among Uber drivers and it’s mostly caused by gender differences. A new working paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research called “The Gender Earnings Gap in the Gig Economy: Evidence From Over a Million Rideshare Drivers” shows that in the case of working for Uber, men make more than women because of their inherently different masculine traits that give them a slight advantage." *** The abstract of the study states, “We completely explain this gap and show that it can be entirely attributed to three factors: experience on the platform (learning-by-doing), preferences over where to work (driven largely by where drivers live and, to a lesser extent, safety), and preferences for driving speed.” This is a somewhat unusual and thus fascinating look at the innate differences between men and women because of the apples-to-apples comparison. Typically, wage gap die hards compare engineers to preschool teachers and the comparison is too faulty to even bother with analyzing. If you were to compare a male Uber driver and a female Uber driver with what you experientially know about men and women you might observe, which gender (generally) drives faster, takes more risks, and would drive at night? Men are naturally wired for and drawn to jobs that are riskier and thus pay more or are simply more lucrative because of what they produce (think engineering versus teaching preschool). They also tend to work longer hours, take fewer breaks (to bear and raise babies) and thus simply clock in more time at the end of the day." Not only will the gig economy not shrink the gender pay differences, but it is also likely to enlarge them because it allows each gender to behave as they wish without the pressure of the overlord boss. Men will be even more masculine and women even more feminine when they are freed by the gig economy. This will not change the opinion of the feminists on the subject. They need issues to shriek about, or their movement will die, so, they will shriek. It is best to ignore them. Overturn
Roe was the Supreme Court legislating from the bench. This is an unconstitutional and unconscionable usurpation of power from the people to the Justices. When I read the decision I had a visceral reaction, it was that bad. I became an immediate naysayer, although I was supportive at the time of abortion rights. Time to do the right thing and overturn Roe, and return the rights usurped to the people. |
