EU referendum: 'Panicked' Remain camp plans to 'take out Boris' as opinion polls swing in Brexit campaign's favour
Answer? Attack the figurehead.
There is an old, tried, and true axiom among losing litigation attorneys, "If you do not have the facts, argue the law, and if you do not have the law, attack the opposition counsel." Apparently it keeps the client happy through the loss.
The anti-Brexit campaign has been waging a stupid, and losing, Brexit equals apocalypse campaign for quite some time. It has slowly destroyed the credibility of anti-Brexit. They are now reaping the fruits of their shrill, overwrought, lies, no one believes them. Instead of trying the truth, and addressing the issue in a matter of fact manner pointing out the pro's and con's, they continue to do the wrong thing. This time it is to attack Boris. This will only make them look even more desperate, if that is possible.
Sir James Dyson: 'So if we leave the EU no one will trade with us? Cobblers...'
Based on this game plan expect the anti-Brexit to have even more difficulty finding votes. Perhaps the panicked yammer heads will pull out of this dive before they bury the nose in the dirt, perhaps not. But it looks like an interesting time.
In the short run anti-Brexit (a year or so) has the better argument, long term Brexit has the best argument. In my view long term always wins.
