House Dems launch '18 anti-poverty tour
The only way government can reduce poverty is to limit government sufficiently that the economy thrives, jobs are plentiful, and unemployment low. Welfare does not alleviate poverty as it only creates a plantation upon which the Democratic Party can force the poor. The adage, "Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime, give a man a fish and feed him for a meal, " is apropos. The Democrats want as many people on their new Democratic Party voting plantation as possible hoping to convert them into dedicated voters trapped onto the dole. Trump has driven a stake through the heart of the welfare system by showing people that we can get low unemployment again, if only we are willing to reduce regulations, and shrink the size of government. The Democrats believe it is 1964 all over again. It is not. Welfare was a short-term 20th-century necessity to get us through. The new world order will be unlikely to perpetuate this destructive policy. I am not yet sure what will replace welfare but it will be less dependency inducing and allow for more liberty and individual agency.

Hatch: Trump steel and aluminum tariffs are a 'tax hike on Americans'
Tariffs are a tax hike on Americans. I hope that Trump has something other than tariffs in mind, something like pressuring our trading partners to negotiate better trade deals for all parties. We shall see. Who is the most dangerous person you will likely meet this year? Who is "The Man?"
They injure far more. Even so, they cannot help but try to ignore the problem they create by insinuating themselves into other issues in an attempt to deflect attention for the damage they do. AMA Takes Aim at Gun Violence Perhaps you should aim at the problem which is well more than twenty times (I have no idea how many are injured by do not die but the number is likely staggering) larger than gun violence; physician caused death and injury. And never forget the number of firearm-related homicides is about 11,000 - 12,000 per year of the 30,000 total, the rest are suicides. How many suicides result from physician errors? The number is not insignificant. My point is the AMA should tackle something which they have substantial knowledge of and a significant ability to reform and make better. Instead, they target something which is both politically expedient and which deflects attention from their serious failings. Physician heal thy self! Chick-fil-A Mocks the Lefty Myth About Wage Stagnation | RealClearMarkets
The first businessman to steal all of the minimum wage + $2-$5 and provide those workers with good opportunities will win in the world of idiotically high minimum wage. He (Chic-fil-A) will win because he will doom the other businesses to hiring mostly inefficient, low skilled workers who are worth less than the new high minimum wage but who must be paid the new high minimum wage premium. Chic-fil-A will pay workers more but get workers who are worth what it is paying them. More below. If we're headed for regime change in Iran, get ready for a military draft. We'll need one.
I am not yet willing to agree with this for a couple of reasons. First, there are a large number of men right now who have become galvanized by the Liberty Web, people like Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson, Joe Rogan, Dave Rubin and many more. These young men are trying to find their way in the world. Few similar existed during the past 10-20 years. Does this mean these men will jump at the opportunity to enlist if an existential war were to erupt? I do not know, but these men look more like the American men circa 1939 than the American men circa 1999, so, that is one of the possibilities. I don't think the author is wrong. I think he is missing this undercurrent flowing through our young American men today. If war comes, we will be surprised by the patriotism of our young men. This patriotism will result in a shift in the American political landscape which will fundamentally end the progressive era, and cause a great renewal in America. The revival will include politics, society, economics, and will ultimately trigger a new American national order and a new world order helmed by America and relying on the things we know work. These include republican government, Constitutionally protected individual liberty, reformed religions, free-market economies/Capitalism, the rule of law, and the right to own and use property. IG's Email Report Will Drop 'Bombshell' on Hillary? The report will not be complete since the IG is limited in scope. I expect that he will lay all of the cards he has on the table and those cards will be bad for Obama, Hillary, the DOJ, and the FBI. I expect the IG will have some criminal referrals. Just from the evidence in the public realm that appears likely. June 5 will be an important day in US history. But then June 12 will be as well. Get ready; the Trump Presidency will be full of historic days. Pompeo Cautiously Optimistic About June 12 Summit
Will anything happen on day one? Probably not, but who knows. It is not uncommon for some motion to occur early in negotiations but I expect that this will take a fair amount of time. Both parties will want to take a step towards the other if only to create goodwill and make it less likely for a quick walk away. But, we are dealing with the NorKs so anything is possible. "Robert Kaufman, a professor of public policy at Pepperdine University in California, told LifeZette that the administration needs to guard against over-eagerness for a deal. He said that is why it was so important that Trump demonstrated a willingness to walk away when he previously canceled the summit. “I’m not sure about the prospects [for ultimate success], but I will say that I think the president has handled this absolutely right … He’s willing to have a deal on his terms,” he said." He's right this was important, and Trump needed to execute the walk away at the right time and for an appropriate reason. It almost seemed like Kim knew that and gave Trump his reason, then Kim walked it back. If so, that is a very good sign. I don't see the need for a walk away at this point by either party, but Kim might feel the need. I doubt that, however. More likely, Trump and Kim will make significant but relatively minor moves towards the other's position to assure and bind the other to the talks. I am not a fan of trade wars. I am a fan of free trade. Trump disagrees with me. With the battle lines drawn, I have no idea where this goes from here. Two people are injured when a crane collapses on homes in Florida
