The Vanishing Liberal Arts Degree
"From this perspective, the decision to turn toward “practical subjects” makes a lot of sense. If you aren’t going to get a real education no matter what you do in college, you might as well learn something that will get you paid later."
Liberal education is dead, we might as well accept that, and move on to some sort of higher ed trade school system. This should only require about 2-1/2 years to 3 years of total education in the focus area.
Degrees like law should be reduced, and only need perhaps a total of either 4 or 5 years of study, with about half being in the law, the other half being in a broad general studies curriculum.
