Lashing Out At Mattis And Kelly, Trump Says "Failed Generals" Need To Stop Complaining
Our professional warriors cannot rid themselves of their Cold War mentalities even nearly 30 years after the end of the Cold War. Bush, pere, Clinton, Bush, fils, and Obama all wore blinders when it came to America as the World's Policeman. We do not need to be nor, should we be, the World's Policeman. Bush, pere, interfered in a Middle East issue after Iraq invaded Kuwait. Clinton interfered in a European issue in Yugoslavia, Bush, fils, interfered in Middle and Near East issues in Iraq, and Afghanistan, Obama just could not get enough interfering pretty much everywhere for no apparent reason and with no rhyme nor reason. These issues should have been addressed by the nations in the region. Why the US had to fight a Middle East war to "free" the unfree peoples of Kuwait from Iraq, only to return them to the authoritarian rulers of Kuwait is beyond me. Frankly, it is anti-American to its core. If we fight, the peoples must end up free. There is no other acceptable American outcome. Why Europe and the European allies in NATO could not fight in Yugoslavia is unclear. But what is clear is they had neither the moral compunction nor the desire to expend the treasure to fight a war in Yugoslavia no matter how much ethnic cleansing was occurring. They would rather let the US pay the freight, and send warriors. Bush, fils, and Obama followed this same roadmap to their foreign policy failures with Obama incompetently following it time after time resulting in the world sliding from relative stability into an unstable mess. Obama was always the dandy well pressed and creased but empty suit. For the first time in decades, Trump has decided that if regional powers want to fight a war, so be it but Americans will not send our troops to fight on behalf of others. This will require that Isreal, the House of Saud, and other regional powers work together, build alliances and if necessary, fight wars together to stop regional threats. The USA may still be willing to provide technical, and matériel assistance. This is a policy we should have been pursuing since 1990 but foolishly have not. Trump's policy is an important and necessary advancement in how the US will work with our allies. They need to get used to it because it is here to stay. Trump will be the American President to get America out of the World Police business; it is about time! Obama was given the only Affirmative action Nobel Peace Prize. Trump deserves one for his work in each of Korea, China, Russia, and this Syrian disengagement yet he will receive none. On the other hand, were he to receive one, he should reject it as a worthless piffle selected by a stable of horses-asses.
