Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Blames an Employee for the Green New Deal FAQ Blunder
In the fantasy world of the progressive responsibility is icky, and falls to a subordinate. This blunder is yours Ms. Occasional-Cortex, own it. Back at the dawn of time, I was a crew chief on a paper mill demolition and construction project. During the project, we had to take down a building within the paper mill. The building was made of original timbers dating to the turn of the 20th century, they were huge perhaps 30"X24," and they spanned about 35-40'. Once the men got the siding and roofing stripped from these beams, I instructed one of the men to get a chainsaw while I went and helped the crane maneuver into position. I specifically told him not to do anything until I returned and the crane was set and ready to lift the beams while they were cut loose. When I returned with the crane, I found the man I tasked with getting the chainsaw atop one of the beams sawyering away. To say my blood pressure spiked is silly, it about blew my head off. He was merrily sawing through my job more than he was sawing through the beam. If he made it through there was a good chance the beam instability would cause it to fall, and it weighed tons. The end would drop 60', punch through the concrete floor, and, if I was unlucky, and Murphy's Law instructs I will be unlucky, it would fall into the cinder block wall, punch through and smash into the paper machine reel end along with my job. Because I lived in the real world, and not a fantasy progressive world of childish nonsense, the consequences of that man's actions would fall to me, the responsible crew chief. Congress should be filled with responsible, sober people; instead, we fill it with foolish knobheads who know nothing, have vanishingly few serious experiences, and who are little more than ego dirigibles. AOC needs to grow up and take responsibility until she does there is no reason to treat her as anything other than a child, title notwithstanding. Germany’s Refusal To Fund 2 Percent Of Its Defense Is Not Ally Behavior
The EU is not an ally of the USA; we should stop pretending they are. We should begin to develop new alliances with Central and Eastern Europe. Time to leave the EU nations and look for better alliances elsewhere. Twitter Considering Rule Change That Would Flag Tweets From Politicians That Violate The Rules (But Not Delete Them) If you attack the King, you best kill him! This won't even dent The Donald, so it will make him stronger. This will soon be seen as a badge of verity and will weaken Twitter, the Democrats, and progressives while strengthening Trump. Go ahead attack Trump and make him into SuperGodzilla. After two or three years of Fake News, what are journalists?
"News," particularly video news, is entertainment not informational. Watching progressive sheeple get shorn by these simpleton grifters is shocking. But the grifted sheep seem to want nothing more than to be shorn. The reason simpleton grifters like Rachel Maddow are so oft wrong is that they are clueless that intelligence is a trap. Maddow is undoubtedly a highly intelligent person, but her experience stack is so tiny that her intelligence runs roughshod over everything else. She is intelligent and, so, clever. That cleverness allows her to create mental arguments so tight she can believe idiotic things like Trump colluded with the Russians. Others like Jim Acosta are less intelligent but highly ignorant. I will save Acosta and his ilk for another day. We have seen this for years, perhaps the person who most personifies this is Paul Krugman. He has gone from an economist grounded in reality to a political pundit grounded in progressive dogma. His dogmatic beliefs overpower the simple economic axioms resulting in Krugman saying things which are not just wrong but idiotically wrong. So it is with Maddow. It is almost as if these people have a huge V-12 high-performance engine for, but it has been dropped into a soapbox racer. No amount of tweaking will permit this engine to push this wood and lawnmower wheeled crate to "amazing" speeds. The soapbox racer will disintegrate after reaching a few tens of miles per hour. Yet they persist. Maddow's/Krugman's dogmatic beliefs are so important they overpower their tiny experience stack to allow the creation of clever if idiotic arguments with which they confuse themselves into false belief. I am no great shakes but I was able to pass college, and then law school without any trouble and had no trouble passing two state bars on the first try each. But I chose a different route than these pundits. I worked heavy industrial work first as a paper mill hand, then later as a demolition labor crew chief. These jobs create personal common sense by making existential danger commonplace. One only walks away with all of one's fingers, toes, ears, and eyes if one subordinates the intelligence to experience. One must subordinate the intelligent, clever mind to the experiential mind or bad things will happen. Once that happens, personal common sense flowers. One can then look at situations and realize the hidden dangers or the potential for hidden dangers whether that situation is physical, or metaphysical. It is this personal common sense which people like Maddow and Krugman lack and which drives them to say and believe the idiotic. Again, I am no great shakes, but sufficient to get by without being ensnared by every false story or meme. I find those like Maddow and Krugman incomprehensible. Measles – and vaccine non-compliance – meets public health
The consequences of stupid are death, serious illness, disfigurement, and medical mayhem. The learning curve on this is incredibly steep. Unfortunately, the consequences are not necessarily levied against the stupid but are oft levied against the innocent. Which is why the state has a valid interest in reducing these medical problems via mandatory vaccines. Exercise linked to 45 percent drop in death risk
45% of what? If the base risk is tiny, 45% is meaningless. But if the base risk is large, then it is serious. If one out of 100,000 people who do not exercise will die, the base risk is small, but if 1 out of 10 will die the base risk is high. So, which is it? This is journalistic incompetence. Physicians do this as well; I have no idea if they do this out of ignorance or if they are trying to manipulate the patient into the behavior desired by the physician. Regardless, it is unethical malpractice. 8 Fun (and Possibly Dangerous) Activities Enjoyed by Past Generations That Today's Kids Will Never Experience
