Obama Bluffs Again Obama is a foolish man who disposed of his reputation quickly in the first year of his Presidency. Since then, no other nation, and no other man has feared him. He is a rube, and a dithering fool. While the US people, and our military still demand respect, our President and his Ship of Fools does not. And, so, is not respected. "Three weeks into Brexit, and President Obama is already singing a different tune. It’s remarkable how quickly the man can modulate from a doom-and-gloom dirge about putting a post-Brexit Britain at the “back of the queue” for any future trade deals to a more pleasant, lilting melody in a major key. The FT:
'The Obama administration has begun preliminary discussions with senior UK officials about how they might pursue a trade agreement between the two countries following Britain’s exit from the EU, according to Washington’s top trade official. The discussions, which Mike From an the US trade representative, revealed on Thursday, coincide with a growing push by Republican Brexit supporters in Congress for President Barack Obama to launch talks on a commercial pact quickly.' They also highlight how quickly the president and his administration have backed away from his warnings before last month’s referendum that Britain would be at the “back of the queue” for any trade deals with the US if it voted to leave the EU." What a useless buffoon! "In itself it’s not a big thing, but its part of a pattern of ill-considered statements leading to inelegant retreats that encourage foreign leaders to keep testing him. How red are his red lines? Inquiring minds want to know." Being tethered to this flapdoodle is galling. He has made America a laughingstock. Mead's attack on Trump is meritless. It is Hillary who already has damaged America by selling influence, mishandling intelligence, and who will do even more damage if President. After all Mr. Mead, who engineered the Obama foreign policy that has so badly failed, it was his first Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, an incompetent failure. Trump may be out of the box, but his choice of Pence shows he is a leader capable of surrounding himself with reasonable advisors. I would expect nothing less from a man with Trumps successes in business. While I like to read Mead, one must never forget he is a moderate progressive, and as such, he is essentially antagonistic towards liberty. He will vote for Hillary, it is in his nature to be attracted to the authoritarian. Hillary will be little more than the second coming of Obama, if that is your cup of tea, so be it, it is not mine. While Trump and I have few policies in common at present. I would be surprised if he does not modify his policies somewhat during the course of the election season. We need a free trade agreement with the entire Anglosphere, and we should show our goodwill by extending free importation of goods to all of the nations in the Anglosphere, sua sponte. Then we need to convince the others in the Anglosphere to do the same. It is an economic imperative to help power the world out of its current economic doldrums.
