Europe is collection of contradictions, Catalan threatens to secede, Scotland seeks independence . . .
Catalonia Threatens Secession
. . . and that's just the beginning.
Catalan threatens to tear Spain apart. Scotland threatens to secede from Great Britain, and gets a sweetheart home rule deal which prompts Wales among others within the Commonwealth to squawk. Great Britain herself is voting on a Brexit from the EU. The Flemish, and the Walloons are in constant state of near separation in Belgium. Italy is four countries soldered together with weak lead solder, none of which particularly likes or respects the other. Talk about a fractious bunch. I expect the pressures arising from the EU crisis to continue to inflame these issues. I have no idea how any of this will pan out. But it makes for good theater, so grab a chair, a beer, and some corn, it should be fun.
